Horsepower Fantasy Racing: Picks for the Tales of the Turtles 400

Playoffs, you want to talk about playoffs? Are you kidding me?

Why yes it is that time of year. Ten races to reduce a 16-driver field down to 12, then 8 and then four to determine the one driver to hoist the trophy at the end of the season.

Win a race, move on. It is simple as that.

And the playoffs once again start at a location that is familiar with trophies and titles. After all, the town had to wait over 110 years to see the Cubs finally hoist the Pennant last November.

Now it’s the start of another battle to the top of the NASCAR mountain.

The League is also ready to go into battle themselves, and have adjusted to a new set of rules. The playoffs mean those that continue through all 10 races…will have made 10 different driver picks.

It all starts now, so let us look at the picks for the Tales of the Turtles 400:

Misan Akuya:  Kyle Larson

Back to wins including one to start of the Playoffs.  Kyle Larson would love to do it.  I think he can.

Rob Blount:  Brad Keselowski

No reason given.

Billy Fellin:  Martin Truex Jr.

No reason given.

Dalton Hastings:  Jimmie Johnson

No reason given.

Ashley Hobbs: Chase Elliott

No reason given.

Ashley Hull: Denny Hamlin

No reason given.

Ashley McCubbin:  Kyle Busch

No reason given.

Klarissa Mitchell:  Denny Hamlin

No reason given.

Dustin Parks:  Matt Kenseth

While there is a lot of options to choose from, I need a reliable pick to start the playoffs. So, I’ll go with the 20.

Patti Rodisch: Kyle Larson

No reason given.

Sal Sigala Jr:  Jimmie Johnson

No reason given.

Rob Tiongson: Ryan Blaney

While the obvious pick would be Kyle Larson or Martin Truex Jr, I’m all about making a gamble in the early going and Ryan Blaney knows how to race around intermediates like Chicagoland.

Penny Whitecotton: Kevin Harvick

No reason given.
