Horsepower Fantasy Racing: Picks for the Hollywood Casino 400

Coming out of Charlotte, there are a lot of questions in the Chase.  Those that were expected to be strong in the round…faltered.  Those that found success in this round a year ago, including one former champion, suddenly found themselves at a point that winning isn’t just an option, it’s the only option.

No one wants to go into the final race in the round and hope the cards fall their way.

The Round of 12 has already seen some interesting moments, and now that is bringing forth many who are in dire need of reestablishing their dominance.  Meanwhile, one driver suddenly is feeling good, knowing their spot in the next round is secure, and nothing can change that.

Now, NASCAR goes from it’s home base out to the Great Plains of Kansas, a staple in the Chase.  Next year, this event will become the final race to determine who moves into the next round.  But for this year, it’s the final race to determine who will have the easiest pass into the Round of 8, avoiding the chance and the chaos that will come next week.

In the same token, the Fantasy Pool is in a tough spot for many, as those in contention didn’t fair well a week ago, and now several are in need of points to get out of possible elimination.  Some are even considering going all-in and hoping for a victory, guaranteeing the move into the next round.

That in mind, everyone is ready to go, and set to showcase who they feel is the right driver to pick for Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400:

Misan Akuya (ROUND 2):  Matt Kenseth

No reason given.

Rob Blount (ROUND 2):  Brad Keselowski

No reason given.

Mary Jo Buchanan (ROUND 2):  Martin Truex Jr.

Going with my Jersey boy!

Billy Fellin (ROUND 2):  Kasey Kahne

This might seem like a hail mary, but why not? While Kahne hasn’t had the greatest 2016, he’s had quite the run over the last six races: 7th, 6th, 7th, 9th, 12th, 3rd.

Ashley Hobbs (ROUND 2):  Jimmie Johnson

Lets see if “Six-Time” really found the magic again and can go back-to-back!

Ashley Hull (ROUND 2):  Kyle Busch

No reason given.

Ashley McCubbin (ROUND 2):  Chase Elliott

No reason given.

Klarissa Mitchell:  Joey Logano

No reason given.

Dustin Parks (ROUND 2):  Joey Logano

I could go with Rowdy since he won here already this season, but can’t shake his bad luck from my head.  Could go with Jimmie too, but I wanna save him for another race.  Already used Truex, and Brad matches what I feel for Jimmie.  So who do I go with…I go with the guy who won here last year, thanks to a bump to a rival.

Patti Rodisch:  Jimmie Johnson

No reason given.

Sal Sigala Jr. (ROUND 2):  Denny Hamlin

No reason given.

Rob Tiongson (ROUND 2):  Matt Kenseth

No reason given.
